How To Install CARAT

This blog explains how to install CARAT in a computer that does not have CARAT installed. If you are updating CARAT, please see our blog on updating CARAT.

Before proceeding, please ensure that the following checklist has been completed:-

The computer is using Windows XP onwards
The computer has a minimum of 4GB RAM and a hard disk with a minimum of 30GB free disk space
The computer has a mouse and monitor attached
The computer has a printer attached if printing of reports is required
The computer has access to the Internet

Important: If you have a local area network (LAN), one computer on the network should be designated as a server to serve files to other computers (clients). CARAT should be installed into the server so that clients can use CARAT from the server and share data files. You should not install CARAT into multiple computers unless you do not want to share data.

Here are the steps to install CARAT:-

Go to the server
Download the installation file for CARAT from CLAM or from our web site (Ignore any unsafe file warnings from your browser or anti-virus program)
Open the installation file
Accept all default installation settings
Run CARAT after the installation has been completed
If you are able to see the main window after entering your login credentials, you have successfully installed CARAT
